Anyone using .Net language to write shareware

I'm wondering .NET is good for writing shareware at the moment since it
needs .net framework installed in client's computer. But current windows
don't have pre-installed .net framework which is quite big to download from
internet for many customers. I'm afraid that will turn some customers away
from your software.

tell that to the hundreds of open source projects currently using .Net on
GotDotNet, SourceForge, and others.

A very large percentage of the shareware on the market is based on Java,
which requires a runtime download and can be difficult to set up. I'll take
..Net any day.

I find this always so strange, when there is written at shareware (you need
for this SP1), than nobody say anything and probably thinks, I did not have
that yet. good that I see it is there.

What is the difference when you tell.
(you need for this .Net 1.1).

It is not always needed to use a SP as well do you know.

However when you want to reach as well MS/PC-Dos(W'311) or W95 customers or
more with even older operatingsystem s/computers, than you should have to use
of course a for that sufficient program language. By the way, for Linux
there is as well a .Net version.
