Adding Web Cam Images To Access

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can add a web cam to an access database for
capturing jpg. photos? As a not-for-profit agency that supports people
with disabilities, we have to update their photos once a year. I am
looking for an easy way to update their photos by having a webcam
setup, view the live image on desktop and click a button that will
save the image back to the database and link up with their record?
Any software or ideas?
Thanks
Kevin

Don't store the pictures in the database. Save them to disk and save the
path to the pictures in the database. Have a picture control on the form.
Update the picture in the on-current event. Microsoft has a kb article on
this, I suggest you look it up.

As far as controlling the camera is concerned, you are probably stuck with
the sendkeys command.

good luck!

At first I was not certain what could cause Access 97 from displaying most jpeg images, but not all. After further testing, it seemed that all original images of less than 275 pixels per inch or less would display, but those close to 300 pixels/inch or greater would not (MS Access cannot recognize the file format xxx.jpg). The larger, original images were scanned and saved as .bmp (at 300 dpi producing a 15MB file). Then the images were...

Hello, I have a Windows Application that needs to load multiple image files in response to users clicking buttons. Currently, I just have these images as .jpg files on disk, but I don't want to have to migrate the files everywhere that the executable is installed. Is there a way to add them to a Visual Studio solution/project so that they are embedded in the application somehow? If so, how do I access the images when needed? Thanks,...

This problem has been driving me mad for months.... Seen a few posts on forums about it but no answers... No mention on MSDN etc. XP Pro SP1, VS.NET (c#) .Net framework 1.1, IIS 5.1. In a nutshell when testing my ASP.NET (localhost) apps images randomly don't load on the page. Examining the IIS logfile shows the missing images give 401 or 403 errors. Here's an example - 10:15:47 127.0.0.1 GET...

I have strip-mined, strip-searched, and completely exhausted the Internet (up to the 30th page on Google, with 100 results per page!!), all without finding an answer to my question AS TO WHY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PROGRAMMATICALLY ADD A BUTTON TO A DYNAMICALLY CREATED PAGE. Or, to be more precise, why it is impossible to have an onClick sub respond to that button’s Click event. My main page has only one line:

Hi, I'm trying to add images to a report, pointing to a field in a query containing the file path (a combination between a string value and an existing field). There's nothing wrong with the path, but for some reason I get a message saying it can't find the field "IMAGE_PATH". I'm using the following code, which should work: Me!ImageFrame.Picture = Me.IMAGE_PATH.Value

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
