Hello,
We are in the process of examining our current main application. We have to
do some major changes and, in the process, are questionning/validating the
use of MS Access as front-end. The application is relatively big: around 200
tables, 200 forms and sub-forms, 150 queries and 150 repports, 5GB of data
(SQL Server 2000), 40 users.
I'm wondering what are the disadvantages of using Access as front-end? Other
that it's not...

Hi,
When programming, some time there is a need to change some variables'
name while finding a better name. However manually change it one by one is
so tedious and time-consuming.
What I am looking for is a tool that may provide the functionity
automaticlly changing variable's name through entire code.
Please tell me if you know that no matter it is specialized to C++,C# or
C. Any lanugage is welcome. Thx.

Is there a way to find out where an application was created from?
i.e. - work or home
i.e. - if application sits on a (work) server/network, the IT people know the
application is sitting there, but is there a way they can find out if that
application was put there from a CD or email or created at work?
Hint: It's not on a client/server database, just native jet database mdb
created on Access 2003 (default 2000)...

I have a job to automatically import Excel data and post to database tables,
via a point-click interface. Choose-file-and-it-does-the-rest kind of
thing.
Cient stores data in columns in his sheet (I told them it should be in rows,
but that's another issue). Sometimes the sheet gets new columns added. At
that point, Access/import spec won't recognize the new columns.

I have written two windows services:
- service A does some crunching of local data files and uploads them to
a central processing computer via http.
- service B monitors a manifest file on a webserver to see if service A
needs to be updated.
What service B does if it sees their is an update for service A is to
download a new copy of the service A executable, stop service A,
replace the executable with the new copy, and start service B...

feature does not support: a) full text justification; b) programmatic
manipulation.
I was hoping that someone might know one way or the other whether that was
true or not, or could point me to an article or help text that would. What I
