Access 97 Setup wizard - included files not showing up in windows menu

Sam
Hi,

I have successfully created a distribution of an Access application
using the setup wizard included in ODE 97. The problem is that some of
the files I want to windows to show as available for selection in the

Start -> All Programs -> My Application

don't show up there, although those same files did get successfully
put into the application directory on install.

Is there some kind of switch in the wizard to specify this? What am I
missing?

Thanks in advance,

One of the pages in the wizard allows setup of the start menu icons.

I am concerned. I have recently moved to A97 from Access 2.0 where I rolled out runtime apps with the ADT. Now, the Office Pro Developer's Edition with Access 97 is what I'm using. I find some unfriendly behavior. I want (need) to find out what the pro's (like you guys) are doing to circumvent some of the difficulties encountered when rolling out A97 runtime apps into environments that either have or may have in the future MS Access 97...

I have a project that is deployed using a MSI. When the user attempts to install a new version of the program I require them to remove the existing version first. Is it possible to do the following 1.) Instead of having the user remove the program from the "add/remove programs menu" have my setup project copy the existing version to a backup directory? Thanks

Can anyone help me determine how to overwrite always by default without removing the permanent flag on files, when the file that is being copied is older than the existing - when using an executable genereated from a setup wizard project. Also is it possible to get the setup to disregard the fact it needs to be repaired or uninstalled before doing a normal full install every time. (always do full install). Many thanks. Tone

Hi, can someone please provide me with some information on how I can create a shortcut from the users start menu/ desktop to my installed application when I am using the VS2005 setup wizard. I have tried rightclicking on the relevant folders in the setup wizard and creating a new shortcut but the best I can do is open up the folder where the application is located. Hi I have set up networking between two PCs, conntected them with LAN cards. I ran Network Setup Wizard and both computers have now access to Internet. The problem is that the secondary computer (the one not directly connected to Internet) looses network connectivity whenever it is restarted. I will then have to re-run Network Setup Wizard on the primary computer everytime. What could be the problem?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
