Terminal Services, Win2k DC, Win2k3 server access

233 New Member
Our network consists of two Win2k Server DC's, with several other Win2k3 servers. I cannot find where I can configure terminal services access within the GPO for the user in question. In Win2k3 server, it is \Computer Configuration\W indows Settings\Securi ty Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment. Is there an equivalent in Win2k GPO?

I receive the following error message when I attempt to log on to a Win2k3 server with the username in question:

To log on to this remote computer, you must have Terminal Server User Access permissions on this computer. By default, members of the Remote Desktop users group have these permissions. If you are not a member of the Remote Desktop Users Ggroup or another group that has these permissions, or if the Remote Dektop User group does not have these permissions, you must be granted these permissions manually.

The only solution that I have found is that I need to add said user to the local Remote Desktop User group on each server that they need access to. Is there not a way to globally grant access?

I installed the 1.1 .Net Framework and installed the application (using a VS Setup app) on the machine. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
