<REPOSTED>
Guys,
I need to build a web intranet application that can automatically
create a user account when a new user registers on the site. The user
account will be on the web server, member of the guests group (or some
other limited group), and get read permissions to a special folder.
I've tried playing with Active Directory on my local box, but I'm

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

My apologies if this shows up twice. I've given it 24 hours, but Windows
Mail has issues posting stuff, which makes things even more fun because of
the number of Vista issues I'm having:
I have to launch the User Accounts applet with admin credentials (long story
short, UAC on my machine got corrupted and is not allowing me to enter admin
credentials, so I am completely locked out of admin account...oh, yeah,
Microsoft's own USB F-Lock...

I'm trying to get a list of user accounts on the local computer - the same
list you see when you are about to log in to Windows XP or Vista. This needs
to work on a home computer (not connected to a domain). It's for a parental
control app where I want the parent to be able to assign rules for each
child's account. I've tried using the Win32 API
LsaEnumerateAccountsWithUserRight with the SE_INTERACTIVE_LOGON_NAME
privilege, but it doesn't...

I've got an application that requires displaying all user account information
on a specific workstation. It's relatively easy enough to do, however the
account list I'm building includes non-typical user accounts - I only want
accounts that are visible in the Add Users component of Control Panel.
Here's a bit of my code:
InitializeComponent();
MyTree.Nodes.Clear();
MyTree.BeginUpdate();
String myADSPath = "WinNT://" +...

All users in my XP Professional PC were able to print to a network printer
until now. Now, the only account that can print to the network printer is the
admin account. I have an HP PSC 2200 series PC. The PC is shared in a PC
running windows 98. I have printing and file sharing enable in the windows 98
PC. I have also installed Norton 360, but I do not think this is the problem
as I uninstalled Norton 360 and limited user accounts were...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
