Hi all I have a php script that presents a rather simple form. After the user filled in parameters and presses <submit>, the results from a postgres database search follows on the page. Now, if the user wishes to print the page, it'll be ugly containing the form boxes. So one solution would be to present a "printer-friendly" option on the page. Clicking there will present the results in a new window free from the form boxes. I don't...

I am pretty much a newbie with javascript, and would like to get a little clarification on what I can do with an onChange javascript event handler. I have a dynamic page I build with perl and print to the browser which includes some data displayed and edittable in <FORM> elements. There are a couple areas where I display a message or a calculated total to the user based on the initial values of some data elements. I would like to...

I have created a report with subform/subreports. I can see all the data on the screen but when I try to print it to a printer or adobe distiller I get 'The Microsoft Jet Database engine could not find the obect ". Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and path name correctly.'. Everything prints expect for the last subform/subreport. If I remove that subreport it prints fine. The subreport prints by itself if I run it...

OK, I tried getting and old Newbury Data ND2500 working using the "Generic /Text only" driver in Win XP. It prints, but I could not find a way to set a custom page size that matches the paper I am using. So there was no way it would ever work. The customer is happy to buy another Dot Matrix printer because the ND2500 can be used elsewhere. So which printer should I get that can plug and play with Access? Paul

I can't make this script work properly. I've gone as far as I can with it and the rest is out of my ability. I can do some html editing but I'm lost in the Java world. The script at the bottom of the html page controls the form fields that are required. It doesn't function like it's supposed to and I can leave all the fields blank and it still submits the form. Also I can't get it to transfer the file in the upload section. The file name...

I'm a net admin for about 20 unix servers, and I need to frequently telnet on to them and configure them. It is a tiring job to open a xterm and telnet, username, password to each server. Can I do it automatically by python? After that, there have 20 xterm consoles opened and telneted to their corresponding servers. Then I could start to type command in these xterms. Any suggestion appreciate. Much thanks.

According to zend.com Double and single quoted strings are handled differently by PHP. Double quoted strings are interpreted while single quoted strings are treated exactly as written. For example: $foo = 2; echo "foo is $foo"; // this prints: foo is 2 echo 'foo is $foo'; // this prints: foo is $foo echo "foo is $foo\n"; // this prints: foo is 2 (with a new-line)

Hi, I'm stuck, but it's almost working! From a html page, my javascript calls a server-side php script. The php reads a value from a server-side .txt file and passes it back as a javascript variable. This all works fine. However, I want it to loop within a javascript function every 5 seconds. The function does other stuff, so looping within this function is essential (I've simplified it in the example below). Any advice would be...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
