Hello!
In our game package (www.andromedaonline.net) we are having problems with
sounds. We have placed them in a jar file, and are trying to access them
from there.
The jar file has a directory structure. A number of sounds have the same
name, but are in a different directory (for example, our game has 5 races.
Each race has the same set of sounds- button clicks, etc, but the actual
sound is different).

Hi,
I looked around and can't find anything on this at all and can not get
it to work for IE.
I'm trying to loop multiple sounds on a game, with three unique
variables, when a link is clicked. Something like...
<Script Language="JavaScript">
<!--
function playSound(soundName, loops, timeLength){

Where can I find some 1) sounds such as a "boing" or "click", 2) what tags
do I use and 3) are there examples of triggering a sound such as 1) button
clicked and 2) when a time interval has passed?
TIA,
Lee

I want to write a game, and sounds will really add to it. Note that I
would always make the sounds optional. I hate it when I go to a URL and
unexpectedly get sounds or music.
I have played with bgsound in IE, and found I can have simultaneous sounds
using multiple bgsound tags. I have done a google search, and the only
results I found were for "multiple sounds", and all of these really meant
"consecutive sounds" -- one sound...

Using the following routine to play embedded wav files:
Private Sub PlaySound(ByVal Sound As Int32)
Select Case Sound
Case 1 : My.Computer.Audio.Play(My.Resources.Sounds.GoOnline,
AudioPlayMode.Background)
Case 2 : My.Computer.Audio.Play(My.Resources.Sounds.DoorOpen,
AudioPlayMode.Background)
Case 3 : My.Computer.Audio.Play(My.Resources.Sounds.DoorSlam,
AudioPlayMode.Background)

Can anyone point me to a code example or repository that would allow me to
provide some "sounds like" comparison capability when doing a search for
LastName?
Thanks,

I'm using the .Net 2.0 SoundPlayer class for the sound effects in my app. But it doesn't seem to allow simultaneous sounds... I'm even executing the instantiation and play on a separate thread. But sound two never gets played. Anyone have much experience with this?
Thanks.

Hello... Currently I have an array of 8 listboxes in VB6. Each item in my listbox plays a wav sound from a large file on my desktop called "Sounds".
I am using the sndPlaySound API.
The code I have to link everything up is:
Private Sub List1_Click(Index As Integer)
Const sSoundFolder = "C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\Sounds\"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
