Here helpers are volunteers. They are not paid for helping like other forums and also newbies do not have to pay here. Experts also need time to answer. You can ask for reply in the same post instead. And to follow posting guidelines is must for each and every member of TSDN. So please have patiance until experts can answer you.

Best regards

The Posting Guidelines are there to explain it to you. If you had read through them, you would see what you are supposed to post, what information we need from you, and what you are expected to do before you post. As we have these written out for you, I am not going to re-write them again. As my previous post states, post a new question, with all that information, in this thread when you are ready.

Hi. I wrote a program in C that spends most of its time doing integer arithmetic (on a data set loaded at run time), with a negligible amount of I/O. I compiled it with lcc-win32 as a console application. The program took 10 hrs to crunch a particular batch of data. I also compiled with Open Watcom 1.1 with similar results. However, I compiled the program on Linux (I have a dual boot system) with gcc, and it took 12 MINUTES to crunch the...

I have a problem I'm trying to figure out how to resolve in Access. I have a volunteer database for a project which occurs each year. Currently I have to go in and wipe out the data each year to start new. I want to somehow be able to incorporate the year's info into the database. For instance, keep 2005's information, and add 2006's. So next year I can pull up 2005 and say "oh yeah, so-and-so participated that year". Any ideas? ...

I have to develop several large and complex C++ hardware test programs that should work under DOS, most likely with 32-bit DOS extender. Development workstation OS would be Microsoft XP. Quite some time ago I worked in DOS, with Borland BC++ 4.1. I do not have it any more. Which compiler would you recommend me now? Which ones support serious DOS program development? Criterion should be number of available free library modules (graphic menu...

Alright... I am attempting to find a way to parse ANSI text from a telnet application. However, I am experiencing a bit of trouble. What I want to do is have all ANSI sequences _removed_ from the output, save for those that manage color codes or text presentation (in short, the ones that are ESChttp://fd0man.theunixplace.com/Tmud.tar which contains the code in question. In short, the information is coming in over a TCP/IP socket that...

I am using VC++ 6.0 (with SP5 installed). When using WinXP this is with SP2 installed. I am developing an instrumentation system comprising a set of networked PCs connected using TCP/IP TCP links. Communications on the Windows PCs use a class derived from CAsyncSocket(). I have written client and server versions of my software for use on the appropriate PCs. I am also using communicating with a legacy DOS based system, with the software...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
