Windows Security Login appearing while accessing web site

1 New Member
Hi All,

We have hosted our classic ASP web site in IIS. Whenever we are trying to access the site it is prompting windows security login screen. Once we provide the credentials our inbuilt login screen appears. How to avoid Windows Security Login Screen? Basic Authentication is enabled in IIS.

Thanks in advance

I'm using the VB.NET language in ASP.NET, with Windows XP on the desktops and Windows 2003 on the network servers. When users log on, they have to enter a user name and password in the netowrk operating system. Is there a function or other means I can use to capture the Windows 2003 login user name for use in my code? Thanks in advance, Paul

I'm looking for a way to force the user to re-authenticate with their Windows username/password/domain after clicking the submit button on an ASP.NET page. This is for an internal application. Does anyone know if/how this can be done?

I would like to provide a menu item that the users can click that launches the same "Windows Security" window that doing a Ctrl+Alt+Delete launches, but thru a Process.Start. Is this possible, and what is the name of the ..exe and it's location? Thanks, Dean Slindee

I've added a punlic domain security login page to one of my web applications. I did this because the number of users has increased to a couple of dozen, and having them all added as users on my machine was becoming cumbersome. I find this method a lot easier to manage the users. Previously I used windows authentication. Is this the method most people use ? Whats the est method ?

I have some .NET web services deployed in IIS and having the Directory security set to integrated windows security. I would like to call these services form other web based applications written in PHP and Java. Is there a way to pass the credentials as part of the XML used to call the web service? Maybe as part of the XML header similar to: <soap:Header> <AuthHeader xmlns="http://tempuri.org\"> <UserName>domain\userID</UserName>...

I am working on a site using coldfusion, javascipt, and SQL Server 2005. I would like one of the fields on a form to autopopulate the user logged into the windows PC that is accessing the site. This is for an intranet based site and all the users should have similar pc's with Windows XP OS. I looked into WMI and think the solution lies in there, but have not been able to find the proper syntax to try. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi all, Is it possible to capture Windows user login in Unix? We have a AIX Unix system that allows users to login (using a common login) and run scripts. At the end of the day, we cannot find out which user executed the script. Is it possible in Unix to find out the windows login user id for the user logged in Unix using a common login. Appreciate any suggestions. AK

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
