I am having trouble understanding the methods for the Listbox from Tk.
If I was to select at item in the list using a mouse click (have already
created the bind event) - what method returns the text of the selected
item ?

I am trying to return the value of a listbox control that is included as a
user control, I can return the name of the control but I can't access the
integer value of the selected item, what do I need to do in order to return
the "option value" of the control?

I have a list box bound to a data set, of course the datasource,datamember,
and valuemember are set, i tell it selecteditem = -1 to make nothing
selected, select mode is set to only one item at a time. When the list fills
the first item in the listbox has a background rectangle drawn but no focus
rectangle (this is NOT a custom drawn listbox, just a standard one).. now i

Is the following a correct representation of the relationship of the selected
index to selected item:
INDEX ITEM
0 "item 1"
1 "item 2"
2 "item 3"
and so on.
I keep getting the same string for selected index 0 and 1; i.e. both are
"item 1".
I'm new to C# and not exactly an accomplished programmer. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I have a multi-select ListBox that shows 5 rows at a time, but contains
possibly a hundred or more items. As I retrieve relevant data from
the database, I set the SelectedIndex of the rows matching the value
for the current entry, and those show up as selected in the ListBox
without any problems.
However it is entirely possible, even likely, that the first selected
index in the ListBox will not be in the first several items in...

I am binding a DropDownList with records existing in a database table.
I want to add an extra item *SELECT COMPANY* at index 0 so that by
