Hi, I joined as I wanted to draw a single dot.
A line x,y,x,y draws nothing.
A line x,y,x,y+1 draws two dots vertically.
A line x,y+1,x+1,y+1 draws two dots horizontally,( like a capital L with the line above.)
So change the dot color to match the background, then all that is left is the desired dot at x,y

According to what I've read, the old Pset (draw a dot) and Point (get colour of a dot) methods have been replaced by SetPixel and GetPixel respectively. Check the doco for these two.

Recently, and for reasons I don't know, the project I was working on started
to compile either very slowly, or it was locking up.
So, I repaired VS C++.NET 2005 Express via 're-installing' it without first
removing it. The repair worked, and the project now compiles in a timely
manner.
My question is this. After the offer to download the Express versions for
free has expired (Nov 2006), will some means to repair the ones we have...

My main dev machine has WinXp and VS2005 (pro).
1. I need to install VWD Express Edition so that I can do some instruction
on this. Any issues with both on the same machine. Installation order?
2. Does VWD Express Edition support the idea of Solutions? I coun't figure
out how to create a blank solution which I usually do with VS2005 (and then
add my web site to the solution.)

I’m having problems with a custom Combo box. The main problem is that I want
to modify the look of the combo which includes the size of the button. To do
this I have inherited from the standard combo set it as a UserPaint and
provided my own paint. This along with the standard Owner Draw for the list
items works fine for the DropDownList version, the problems start with the
versions with the edit box which are where the problems are.

An older book I have ws written with vs.net 2002 in mind and unfortunely one
of my discs is scratched so I can't install anymore. I find it hard to
follow because it mainly uses the command prompt to compile and from what I
can tell Visual C# Express doensn't have a command prompt like the edu
version I have of VS.net
So, I'm looking for a totaly beginner programming book that would work for
someone using express edition. Not new to...

Hello,
I am learning SQL Server 2005 Express. I need to test replication but
when I run New Subscription Wizard I got error: "There are no
publications to which you can subscribe, either because this server
has no publications or because you do not have sufficient privileges
to access the publications."
I see no option for publications. Does this mean that in Express I
cannot run replication? If I can, how?
Thank you very much

coordinates and call GL.glVertex3fv(points). How can I do the similar thing
using System.Draw.Graphics? All of the draw function in Graphics are only for
2D. Non of them takes Z coordinate.
Thanks for any information,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
