Netscape 7.02 is giving me a headache with a downloaded snow script.
Starting with a blank page, I inserted the script and checked it in IE
6 and Netscape 7.02. Everything worked and looked fine. A check on CPU
usage (Windows Task Manager>Performance) gave a 0% to 2% reading for
both browsers on a Pentium 4, 3.06GHz running XP.
As I added text, images, tiled background and so on. I noticed the
mouse was becoming jerky in Netscape 7....

Hi, I have this pre-built JS routine that creates a text animation
special-effect. The routine was included inside a freeware HTML editor,
called AceHTML. The problem is that it seems to work only on IE and
IE-emulating browsers (such as Opera). According to what other people have
told me, the problem is because this script has an outdated browser
detection scheme, and that the procedure it uses for Netscape is no longer
valid in modern...

Hey all:
Just getting my feet wet with javascript. The following script works
fine in Firefox, but won't run in IE. In fact, I've included this
script as an external file in the <head> of my html file, and the
remainder of the page doesn't load at all in IE. If I remove the
<script>, the page loads in IE.
var images = new Array();
var firstImage = 2;

Why would this script below work on an html page:
http://www.eg-designdev.com/aircylinders/test.htm
But not a java page such as this:
"http://www.eg-designdev.com/aircylinders/index3.jsp"
Or does anybody have a simple slide show rotation script they could
refer me to...thanks.

Hi I have a .net application that shows the start page for a few seconds and
then goes to another start page. I was wondering if it would be possible to
put a count on the page to let the user know how much time is left before it
goes to the other page, thanks.

I have a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with.
First let me describe the problem. I have an HTML form that in one
field has an onBlur call to a JavaScript function. When you exit the
field, it calls the JavaScript routine, which in turn calls a PHP
script. The PHP script runs returns the value needed. And returns to
the JavaScript. The JavaScript function is then supposed to set
alerts depending on the values returned from...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
