vb6 install on vs 2005 .net

1 New Member
I have vs 2005 with vb.net installed on my machine. There are a few programs from work written in vb 6.0. Work has supplied me with the disks...it is visual studio 6.0, and it has vb6.0 on them. if i install it...will it "interfear" with my vs 2005 and vb.NET? How will that work.

Can I do a custom install and choose only to install vb6?

I have run both side by side with no problems.
You can do a custom install and just choose VB6
Someitmes you can update your vb6 projects to .net

Hello, I'm having some problems installing Visual Studio 2005. I'll briefly explain what's the history of the problem here. First I installed VS 2005 beta 2. I uninstalled it later via the Windows Uninstall Tool you can download. Then I installed Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition ENU. This was a trial version for 180 days.

I have Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) and the SS 2005 Developer that comes with it, all of which I can install on my local XP box. 1. Which one do I install first, VSTO or SS 2005 Developer?? 2. Regardless of which one is installed first, what's the best way after that to move or copy database objects like tables, queries, reports, etc. from the XP/developer box to an SS 2005 Server?? Thank you, Tom

Hi, I have created a Solution in VS 2005 with 2 simple projects. First project is simple Windows Service which writes an entry into event log when it starts and when it stops. Nothing else. I have added a projectinstaller also for that. I have used following settings for it (developed in VS 2005 only): 1. For Service1.cs file, I have kept the default values. i.e. Name of

My SP1 install seemed to want to keep repeating the install. I spent 4 hours running the install, then it ran again (I got the message up saying it had finished, then it started again). I didn't realise what it was doing until after about 30 minutes, and at that point I thought cancelling might actually undo the original install, so I let it run again (total install time at this point 8 hours!), I got the install finished message and when...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
