Question re ComboBox event VB.NET

2 New Member
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has come across this:

I'm capturing the event when someone changes a combobox value on a form (using SelectedValueChanged) as this combo changes all details on form. No problems with that, but as a user can change fields on the form that may need to be saved I want the ability to "Cancel" the selection changed event if the record has not been saved.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Regards,
Jeremy

You don't cancel the event, you handle it. However if the record has not been saved instead of altering all the other controls you reselect the item that was just selected and possibly output a message.

Or at least that's how we would have done it when I was programming for Windows (err, which was 10 years ago so things may have moved on a bit :p)
