Hi,
i need a simple multiuser access to a file for
parameters like increment numbers.
The numbers are needed for order-numbers etc.
They should be incremented by every programm (client) on
an simple LAN server.
How can i do this ?

I wrote a multithreaded windows service that has read/write access to an XML
file using a mutex.
I started wondering -- a multiuser XML file could be really useful in cases
where a small, one-table, database is needed.
Then, I am wondering how to implement in a web service.
For example, when a user consumes a web service, is each user on a single
thread on the server?

Suppose I want to write a webservice, where an XML file is loaded in
XmlDocument and then a web method is built that would take in an XPath
query as a parameter, and a string value.
The Xpath query would be used to find the node, and the value would update
the InnerXml attribute.
The question is: how can a web service provide multiuser access to the same
XmlDocument?

Hi Frenz,
I want to know about working in a Multi user environment in ASP. If more than one user logins in to my site and works with the pages, during updating work, problem occurs. Is this referred to as Concurrency problem? I want to know how to avoid concurrency issues. Moreover, can the issue be handled both at database level and in application(ASP/ASP.Net). Please guide me. automatically closed and only i can change the value. Even after the database is closed the .ldb file exist .. I want MS Access to act as a reporting tool accessing Oracle tables.
