Outputdebugstri ng

In VB6 I would use the API
"OutputDebugStr ing"
so I could view my internal workings using DBView.exe
Is there something native in DotNet that can replace
OutputDebugStri ng
so I can view whats happening inside of my code whike the exe is running?

I have written a small .net application to captutre the output from calls to OutputDebugString. However it does not always work, and in general does not seem to capture the output when it is written out from within an ASP.Net application on Windows2000. I have noticed using DebugView that the strings I can not capture are the same as are only captured when DebugViews' "capture kernel" setting is enabled. Could anyone point me in the...

Hello, I'm on Win2K3. I'm trying to capture OutputDebugString output made by a COM object used from an ASP page but I don't get it. This appears to be due to debug output being generated from the system account before the output capture utility is run. This is described at the end of this posting:

My copy constructor is crashing my program, and I can't figure out why. I'll try to make the code listing as short as I can. Here are the two headers: class BreakthroughClass { public: BreakthroughClass(); virtual ~BreakthroughClass(); BreakthroughClass(const BreakthroughClass &source);

I know GlobalFree(HGLOBAL) function and already used it but in vain.. So, is there any function that...

Hi All, It looks like VS.Net does not display messages from OutputDebugString while debugging managed code. Is it right? Afraid so, or calls to this would work: extern static void OutputDebugString(String str); Anyway, I would love to be able to see debug messages from

Hello, I have a client application written in VB (call it Client). It uses a COM DLL written in VC++ (call it Server). The Client's projects are all contained in one solution and the Server is contained in another. Both run the same executable when debugging. However, when I debug from the Client solution, trace messages in the Server show up in the Output window, but when debugging from the Server solution, they don't Debug output from...

I would like to write a Windows Service that can communicate with any open browser windows that an interactive user may be running. The service itself does not need to have a UI. The company that I work for develops software that monitors Customer Service Representative (CSR) performance. When you call a help desk and hear "This call may be monitored for quality purposes", the software that does this monitoring very likely has been...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
