Trace messages (i.e. OutputDebugStri ng) not showing in output window

Hello,
I have a client application written in VB (call it Client). It uses a
COM DLL written in VC++ (call it Server). The Client's projects are
all contained in one solution and the Server is contained in another.
Both run the same executable when debugging. However, when I debug
from the Client solution, trace messages in the Server show up in the
Output window, but when debugging from the Server solution, they don't
Debug output from the Client does show in the output window, but
nothing from the Server.

Anyone know how I can remedy this? Thanks much.

Hello all - Preface: This isn't a C# Builder question but if you happen to have the answer to my primary problem, please feel free to chime in ;-) I'm using Borland's C# Builder (Personal) and it seems there isn't an Output window (where the Debug.WriteLine() info would go) like VS has. If there is, I can't find it. I would like to know if it is possible to write a class with the ability to call a console window that would display...

I want to be able to turn off these messages in my output window The thread '<bla>' (0xaa4) has exited with code 0 (0x0). When I'm debudding multi-threaded apps it can get annoying. -- Scott Emick Web Programmer Fox International

Hi. I regularly use System.Diagnostics.Trace. I had been using it in a web service with no problems. But when I ran the web service on a different computer I no longer get the trace messages. Trace is working as I created a simple C# console project to prove it. What could be disabling the trace messages? Thanks. --

How to print msbuild <Messageto the VS 2005 output window, from an msbuild file that is loaded into VS? After reading Don Boxs' "MSBuild for MAKEFILE converts" , I copied the snippet, for point 2, into a text file (test.csproj) and loaded the project into Visual Studio. That was cool, I could see the project and the code file (f1.txt) displayed in the Solution Explorer. After building it a few times, I wanted to see the exact order that...

The framework we use, uses MbUnit and the QE runs the tests through the UI shortcuts. The link to the report then shows up in the output window when the run is completed. Is there a way to write \ modify this text in the output window? I need to run an XSL to generate a new report and provide this new link to the QE instead of the default link provided. Is that possible? Thanks, Avanti

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
