VS 2005 baffled at step 1

Rob
I have been using VS 2003.... just installed VS 2005....

In 2003, if you want to create a Web project, you open Visual Basic Projects
| ASP.NET Web Application....

How do you begin an ASP project in 2005 ?

Rob,

New Website, or you have to download the webproject way as addition.
(Because that Atlas now is for the WebSite way I would keep it with that).

Thanks Cor,

OK so I created "WebSite1". .. I go to look in IIS, but it is not there...

automatically, correct ?

Rob,

It is not needed anymore to put it in IIS. Let say VS2005 has its own
server.
If you want to publish than you can use the Publish button.

Cor, then if I upgrade to VB2005, I don't have to install IIs. Is this
correct?

you don't.

Microsoft is going to announce soon that they are going to stop
releasing new versions of Visual Basic; and Vista doesn't support 2002,
2003 _OR_ 2005.

I would reccomend using Dreamweaver and PHP

Robin

just because you don't have a CLUE it doesn't mean that I'm trolling;
and it doesn't mean that I'm incorrect.

I heard it from a friend that works at Microsoft; that MS is going to
discontinue VB and that Vista doesn't currently support VB 2002, 2003
OR 2005.

Vista does support VB6; but MS hasn't sold any VB6 development tools
for the past 4 years

But if you want to debug through ISS, you can chose to create the project in
'Local Web Site'.

Hello, Not sure what is going wrong here. I just upgraded to .NET 2005 and SQL Server Express 2005 from .NET 2003 and MSDE. I've been working on a huge project for ages, which I 'converted' to 2005. Now I can't figure out what's wrong. It's like I have a snapshot of the original database, and that's what I'm working with. If I open up a form, edits fields, and save, close the form and reopen - all

I've just noticed that the menu items available in Visual Studio 2005 for the Debug and Build menus differ significantly when compared to the menu items in Visual Studio 2003. On my C# installation I don't have build solution, rebuild solution, Step into, Step out, or the Exceptions options on my menu Does anybody know why these important tools are missing from the menu structure?

I'm looking for advice here, and I would really appreciate it if you could help. Is there a VB 2005 book that you like and would recommend (and why)? Would you consider it good for beginners to programming, intermediate, or advanced level?

I need to do some modifications on some code I just inherited and that code has me baffled. On one page, caller.php, with method get there is an anchor with href="foo.php?bar=123". On foo.php, the URL shows the parameter. So far, so good. In foo.php there is no $_GET statement to decipher the value from bar. Furthermore, I did a grep of the entire code base for $_GET and for $_REQUEST and there was none. The code then proceeds to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
