I have a need to become familiar with SQL Server 2000 for work.
Needless to say I am new to SQL Server any version, but not IT in
general. My employer has provided me with the SQL Server 2000
Personal disk from the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise kit as this is
reported here on the MSDN web site to be the version that is supported
on Windows XP. In fact so many of you kind people confess to having
succeeded in doing it.
I have tried...

We have just installed a SQL Server 2000 (SP 3A) onto a computer that
has Windows-2003 Server on it. Now, we cannot get access to that
database server from other computers. Seem like this may be an issue
with Active Directory.
Our network consists of Windows-2000 Servers (SP 4) and Windows-2000
workstations and Windows-XP workstations. We also have SQL Server 2000
(SP2) in three Windows-2000 servers. All work fine. Recently, we get a...

I've cross-posted this in the COM+ group as well -
apologies if that's a no-no. But the problem might be
caused by either... interop or just plain COMAdmin.

I've got a VB.NET app that is trying to access the
Component Services catalog. The first class method
installs a new component at a specified location. The
second method searches for a specified component and
deletes it.

I have written the following function to be used for flood filling in
a bitmap. The function works fine on Windows XP Prof and Windows 2000
server, but on Windows 2003 server it return a stack overflow if the
function runs recursive more than 5495 times. Does anyone know a
solution on the problem eg. how to extend the stack size on Windows
2003, or better a non-recursive function for flood filling an image ?
Function fncFloodFill(ByVal...

Hello
i have a strange problem. I'm using LogonUser to impersonate the user
under which my program must run. On Win XP or Server 2003 it works. But
on 2000 it doesn't. So i found out, to set SE_TCB_NAME privileg - it
doesn't work. Then i read somewhere that this only work for local users
and not domain users and so the changes in the domain policy don't
work.
But the strangest thing i've found out after some tests: LogonUser
works...

I am new to Infopath 2003, SQL server 2000 and SQL server 2003. I am calling up a stored procedure with 2 variables from jscript in infopath 2003 to run a stored procedure in SQL server 2003 to copy a record (@RecipetoCopy) and insert it with a new name(@RecipeNew). It works fine with SQL 2003 but it will not work in SQL 2000. Below is my stored procedure for both.
Code for 2005 work fine:...

When I print out the Help files for an error, it says: "1. Make sure that
the Web server computer is running a server version of Windows 2000, Windows
XP, or Windows Server 2003.
At this point, I do not know if my PC is acceptable for programming Web
Applications.
Just exactly what does "a server version of Windows XP" mean? I have Windows
XP Professional w/SP2 and I have IIs and Front Page Extensions installed
using the "Add/Remove...

SQL Management Studio to the database server from the application
server I get the same error.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
