tooltip behavior problem

I am showing a tooltip on a flexgrid control. The tooltip shows but stays
visible the entire time the mouse is on the cell. How do I get the tooltip
to disappear after some time.

Further, if I set any of the display properties, the tooltip does not show,
e.g
ttip.AutoPopDel ay = 1500

If I rem out the line the tooltip shows.

Thanks.

Best,
Glenn

I recently found that one of my application was leaking memory every time I closed a MDIChild form. I'm using ToolTip.Show(x,y,..) to show my balloon-style tooltip at a specified coordinate. Most of the time it works fine and the "tip" of the balloon points exactly to my specified (x,y) coordinates. But if the (x,y) coordinates are too far to the right, then the "tip" of the balloon now points to some spurious coordinate that's unrelated to my (x,y). Why? How can I stop this? How can I make the balloon's tip point exactly where I...

I have a tooltip control added to my form as well as a treeview control. By using a Microsoft KB article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319963) as a guide, I was able to add tooltip support for individual treeview nodes. However, I noticed that using the method shown in the KB article made the tooltip pop-up such that the cursor was in the center of the tooltip instead of the usual behavior where the tooltip's upper-left corner is placed...

I have to take this personally now. Tooltips have been flakey since the dawn of .NET, but to still have to put up with a disappearing tooltip in VS 2008 is getting beyond a joke. Tooltips have always done this, so isn't it about time they were fixed? I have a tooltip that I assign to a button control on my form. I hover over the button and up pops the tooltip. I move away and the tooltp fades. I hover again, and back comes the tooltip....

Hello Everyone, While working with list view control in VB 2005, I observed a behavior that the tooltip for the control is not consistent i.e. if we closely observe that when the tooltip displays then one can find that some time when you move the cursor in the control, tooltip won’t be displayed. For further investigation I tried to observe the behavior of other such controls e.g. Treeview, listbox and textbox (Multiline). I have observed the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
