I'm not sure it there is an alternate way. VS.NET packages are registered
here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACH INE\SOFTWARE\Mi crosoft\VisualS tudio\7.0\Packa ges

but using regsvr32.exe registers them as COM components, maybe not as VS.NET
packages. This is done by the installer, so I suggest to reinstall VS.NET,
tedious as it can be...

We have been using an Access 97 database with oracle 8.1.7 using odbc linked tables with a VB6 front end. These have been working fine for the last few months. We reconnect the tables when a user logs on (WIN2K client) dependant on the user logon name/password. we use User DSNs as System DSNs will not allow the user name/password to pass through (None administrator users) We have added some extra functionality to our code and now at...

Hi, I have a Javascript heavy application that I need to record stats from for each click that the user makes. For all intents and purposes this is a shopping cart application that employs a neat visual DHTML page turning. This comprises an online brochure with all content loaded in to client on page load. I had to avoid requesting new pages so that I could use this fancy page-turn feature hence the bulky use of Javascript.

In Access 97 I used @ to make message boxes to separate the lines, rather than have the message all in one line. In Access 2000, all that happens is that "@" appears all over my message boxes. Is this feature in one of the libraries that isn't installed by default in Access 2000, and if so, does anyone know which one?

Apparently there is a limit to how complex a single header file with a huge class definition in it can be. The source to one of my header files is at a point that it compiles and runs fine, until I add one more line to it, and I then get this compiler error: fatal error C1026: parser stack overflow, program too complex This diagnostic occurred in the compiler generated function 'void My_Class::Dispose(bool)' Has this happened to...

Hi there, I got an MS Access DB, which is causing problems when the client PC is running using a Traditional Chinese codepage. The DB was probably created with Access 97, Western European codepage. However, the DB I got is now already in Access 2002 / 2003 file format, thus should be already converted to Unicode. When I open the DB on my PC with Western European codepage, it runs

How do you get an accurate count of the number of records returned from a query when using linked tables. I have an access 2003 database as a front end to another access 2003 database that contains only tables. I have linked the tables for the front end to the back end database. I am trying to set the recordsource of a form to a query established by the user to narrow the scope but I don't want to display the form if there are no...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
