Any expert help me in Adding the Net Framework to setup project ?

Hi EveryBody:

I read the articl "using Visual Studio Net 2003 to redistrbuted the Net
framework" which is in the msdn library

and I applied every step in it to add the Net framework to the setup project:

and here what I did:

1- I installed the Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003 Bootstrapper Plug-in

in my deployment computer

2- I Select the Setup project in Solution Explorer. On the Project menu,I
choose Properties

3- I Set the Bootstrapper property to Windows Installer Bootstrapper.

But The .NET Framework redistributable did not packaged with the Setup.exe
for the Setup project when it is built.

And I still Have the warrning message that said: " The setup does not
contain the Net Framework...... "

Also I dont see any lanuch conditions Named >Net Framework which must be
exisited by defualt.

After that some body told me to do the following:

1- you must includes all the files in the project output folder.

2- you must run setup.exe to get it to install the Net Framework.

but I still dont know how to do the previous two setps.

So any help to handel this will be appreciated.

When I build a setup project, the dependency in the setup project is tied to the version in which it was built. Is there a way to build a setup project that can be used in both versions of the Framework? There is provision to build the app's .exe so that the .exe can be used in either version of the framework, is there not a way to do this for the setup project? I looked at the options, did not find any. Did I miss something? --

Hi all! How can I add "internet shortcuts" in the Start/User's Program Menu while deploying a VB.net setup project? When I try to "create new shortcut", Visual Studio warning me: "You cannot use an internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network". I know that "link" files in Windows have .url extension. So these are simply... files. But I can't add them to my setup project :-( Any idea?

I need to install two custom applications installable as the prerequisites for the target computer along with the .Net Framework 2.0 in my deployment project. I am working on an application in VS2008. I have set the target framework to 2.0. I distributed the app to a coworker in MSI format. When he tried to install it, he was told that he needed to install the 3.5 framework. I am wondering, when I created the project, I didn't even notice the dropdown in the create project dialog to select the target framework, so it was initially created with 3.5 as the target framework. But I went into the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
