Tabcontrol Problem with Copy And paste

Hi All,
i'm experencing a frustrating and strange behaviaour :

I created a Windows project in VB.NET 2003 with a form and then I
added a TabControl on the form, and added 5 TabPages on TabControl.
then I added some controls (button, picturebox, labe ls, ... ) on each
TabPage. close the form and open it again.

Now when I click TabControl to go to any tab page and right click on
any control (button, label, picture,..) , I can only see popmenu "View
Code" all the other menus are greyed out.

Sometime often happen that the mouse can't move out of the tabpage
even if you go in a Code page: but this bug can be solved with a
workaround (clicking on the tabpage)

Tha frustating thing is that you CANNOT copy and paste any control !!

This funny behaviour happen 80-90% of the times, but sometimes the
right click menu on controls works properly showing the usual function
enables (copy , paste,...) : i do not understand how i can enable
these..what is the event or the function or the click that make them

Of course i've tried all the possibile actions: click on the tabpage,
click on the tabcontrol, click in, then out, then in then out then
again in.....pleaaass e help !

I've Visual Studio 2003 :
Dev. Evnironment 7.1.3088
..Net framework V.1.1.4322 SP1

Hey all, I'm having a bit of an issue with the TabControl (1.0.5000.0) under Visual Studio .NET 2003... Was wondering if anyone had seen it before... Basically, I have drawn a TabControl, and then added 8 pages to the TabPages collection... Once I do that, I draw a set of eight TextBox's and eight Label's.

I would like to write a designer verb for a class I have that inherits from TabControl. I figure the only way to do that without breaking the special designer stuff that works for TabControl would be to inherit from whatever Designer class is currently used for the TabControl. But I can't find out what that is. There must be one... I would hope it wouldn't be sealed... anyone know what it's called or how to get information about it? Or know...

Hi, NumericUpDown control has a InterceptArrowKeys property, is there such a thing for a TabControl? I want to prevent the TabPages from switching to one another when the Left & Right arrow keys are pressed. I have two forms, Form-A has KeyPreview = True and it is here where the TabControl is placed, Form-A moves graphic objects at Form-B via ArrowKeys. Thanks, Henry

Hi, I'm using visual basic.net 2003 and in two separate projects now i have encountered a frustrating issue where all context menu functionality (copy, paste, delete etc) is disabled on a TabControl in a windows form. I have scoured the internet searching for a solution, and have noted several similar posts but no real solution to the problem. Has anyone encountered this before and figured out how to fix it? or is there a fix that i need...

I have a Windows Form project with a TabControl-based window. After adding a second tab, I can no longer copy/paste/delete controls, either on the original tab or after they have been added to any tab in any form. These options are disabled from menus for this form only (others are ok). Anyone know why this might be happening? I experimented by deleting the second tab through the Properties window, closed Visual Studio, and re-opened my...

Hi If you have a tabcontrol and some tabs with some components on these tabs, the moment you move the component from one tab to another, and you double-click on the button, VS creates a new event (say button1_click_1) although the old event button1_click still exist. I assume VS 2005 does not attach old events when components are cut and pasted on other tabs. My reason for asking this is that we have other developers developing stuff on...

Hi, I want to try design a TabControl (for instance http://www.codeproject.com/vb/net/MDITabControl.asp). For design inspiration, I would like to know pointers to beautifully looking tabcontrol design either on the web or within applications. BTW: I do not want copy anything: just to see what has been done

Hi all, New poster here! I'm having some difficulty updating a tabcontrol cross-threads. The general idea is : the main thread is the owner of the tab control and the form controls. However, due to the vast amount of data to populate listviews within the tabs, I have created a worker thread (an implementation of a BackgroundWorker) to form the data and populate a tabcontrol 'offline', so that it doesn't interfer with (i.e freeze) the UI. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
