Hi,
For developing ActiveX Control hosted in IE, "classid" setting is like
that:
"<component-name>.dll#<name space>.<usercon trol-name>".
However, if my main control includes other ActiveX Control libraries
(*.dll), nothing can be displayed with such settings. Are there any
solutions?

If you don't get an answer here, ask this question in the Windows Forms
Controls group or the Interop group.

I have an Activex Control created in VB6, which, displays no problem on any
machine I have, but, on some machines of others, it does not. All machines
are running either XP or Windows 2000, and all are running MSIE6.x, woth
security settings set to display this control.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out how such a simple control can be so
sporadic in it;s showing on a page. It always downloads - it just doesn't
always show. I'm...

How can I create a fade with javascript that fade an activex object
(quicktime) to the background and not to the IE windowed control.
I call this function several times, each time decreasing the "opacity".
id is the quicktime activex object.
I have tried to set background:tranparent and
background-color:transparent in my style sheet.
//change the opacity for different browsers

I have a database called autographs.mdb that is in the "XYZ" folder in
the "database" folder. I have a form in the database that I want to
display a photo of the celeb on. The photos are in a "graphics" folder
that is on the same level as the "xyz" folder. The only way I can seem
to make it work is to put the entire path including hard drive in the
table (c:\database\graphics\photo.jpg). But I also want to upload the

I have a 3rd parth ActiveX control that needs to be displayed within a web
page. If the user doesn't have the ActiveX control installed on their
computer I would like to display instructions on installing the ActiveX
control (using IE v6 SP 2)..
I'm having a hard time determining client or server side if the ActiveX
control is installed.
If you have any links or suggestions I would appreciated them.

I have a Windows Forms UserControl that runs in a thick client. I am
now deploying it within an IE web page. Everything works fine,
including events, except for one feature. As the mouse is moved across
the control, a System.Windows.Forms.Tooltip is used within the control
to display information to the user about what is under the mouse. It
works fine in the thick client but does not display in the web version.
Previously, our control...

Hello!
Is it possible to use Visual Studio 2005 or, secondarily, Visual Studio .NET
2003 to create ActiveX controls which may be consumed by VB 6.0 programs,
i.e. dealt with on forms in the usual way?
If yes, may you provide a hint/link for getting started?
Best regards,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
