Hello everyone!
I just wanted to know how I can create a font from bitmaps in memory
(currently in an array), or from GDI+. I want to be able to use that
font in a textbox, for example.
I have searched a bit on msdn and google, but didn't find anything
useful. A hint or a link would be appreciated :)
Thank you all 2 1261
Check out PrivateFontColl ection: http://www.cs.arizona.edu/classes/cs...ndouts/30.html
You'll still need to create font files beforehand, but that shouldn't be
too difficult. There is a lot of font creation software out there these
days.

It's going to be hard to find documentation about creating fonts in
memory, on the fly. I'd try something simpler, like this: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/GraphicFonts.asp
Instead of painting to a textbox, could you allow regular text entry to
a normal textbox, and paint the results to a label? This will let you do
that.

news:hc******** *************** *********@4ax.c om... Hmmm... the font I want to create is made from SNES Tiles taken from a file. That means that the font can change anytime, whether by the program, or by someone editing the file. What I want is to create the font at startup, everytime the program is run.
I don't actually want to create the font on the HD; I just want to be able to use it, at least with a textbox, then I dispose it when the program ends. It doesn't have to be a "font", just something I can use with my textboxes. I would have tried GDI+ directly, but the textbox don't have a paint method.
sorry if I was a bit ambiguous about what I wanted ^-^ On Mon, 9 Feb 2004 17:07:00 -0700, "Erik Frey" <er*******@hotm ail.com> wrote:

I have a bunch of custom fonts installed on my system.
For instance if I look at the font drop-down in word pad
I see about 90 fonts, but if I build an app using VS.Net,
add a label, and try to change the font - I'm only given
a choice of about 20 - the "standard" fonts which are
installed with the OS (XP).
How can I get the rest of my fonts in this box?
Thanks.

I saw a few posts on this newsgroup about it but nothing to help me resolve
this problem:
We designed a window in .NET on a platform using small fonts (120 ppp). But
this window will run on servers configured with large fonts. For a reason I
cant explain, not only the font changes when settings the window on large
font but all the widgets seem to be resized. This is kind of problematic
because I have to redraw (resize) all the widgets...

Hi,
I have installed a truetype font (.ttf) on a linux machne (SUSE linux
10, KDE) by copying it to my .fonts folder. I can use the font in all
applications like open-office and firefox browser.
However, I cannot use the font in a python app that I am writing. The
list returned by Tkfont.families does not contain this particular font.
Any suggestions ?

Hi all
Have a customer that wants a specific font included in her web page
design; Comic Sans MS. This is one of the MS core fonts. The problem
I have is that some of the *nix browsers do NOT include these fonts by
default.
http://www.diamondvet.com/test renders those fonts correctly using an
XP box. After I installed those fonts on my machine, firefox and
mozilla both rendered them correctly. So here is the question:

Hi,
I'm trying to migrate from Java to C# and have encountered a problem.
I can't seem to find a way to create (ultra)condensed fonts for later
use in a program. In Java I had a really nice method
some_font.deriveFont(AffineTransform), which would return a new font.
(AffineTransform was just a simple 3x3 matrix)
I'll be most grateful for the help.

Microsoft blows my mind sometimes, what the hell were they thinking? Oh, wait they weren't, that's right.
Anyway, I've got a Setup and Deployment added to my project, and it does everything I want it to, with 1 exception. I have created the infamous fonts folder in order for it to install fonts, but it's only putting shortcuts to them in the fonts folder under the windows directory. Why is this? With only shortcuts to them, I can not use...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
