Whether you are a web surfer or a C++ developer, if you use Windows be
cautioned about SONY music CDs. They contain 'viewer' type software that is
actually a trojan horse for a "rootkit". The licence agreement gives no
indication whatsoever that the 'viewer' software contains the implementation
of a nasty near-impossible to remove rootkit software.

If I use the
shell32q.NameSpace(k)
and the Parent property I can develop, for example, the path to My Music.
Actually it ends with Desktop but Desktop can also be traced by using Parent
to the drive. This desktop is referred as DESKTOPDIRECTORY
However, if I try to develop a path to Shared Music I get to Desktop/My
Computer.

Hi,
I am using Visual Basic 6 to generate web pages that can be used by the
members of our seniors' computer club to create e-cards that include their
own pictures. I wish to include background music.
The music plays okay until the viewer clicks to cause some JavaScript code
to execute. When the JavaScript code runs it stops the music even though the
coding is just used to resize pictures and divs on the page (viz, it is not
supposed...

Does anyone have any XSL style sheets or know of a program/editor that
can simply transform standard Music XML files to a printed score?
Note, not a full-fledged notation program just a, XML to print
transformer. Most music notation programs can export to Music XML
these days, but I've had a hard time finding XSL/FO stylesheets or
utilities that can transform it back to engraver quality musical scores
in PDF. Thanks for any help on this,...

Convert WAV To BMP And Back
On RentaCoder one of the other coders thought I just wanted him to
change the extension from WAV to BMP. Another coder brought up the
complexities of actually converting WAVs to JPGs and back again,
because JPGs are compressed. And someone else asked me how they could
actually convert it. It is easiest if we work with BMPs and WAVs
because if we worked with BMP image files you just have to get into the...

At the request from MacMan247, I am hereby posting the 'how I did it' to get the music from ShadowWraith.
Here's what I did. Turns out that the music is stored in MOD format inside the ShadowWraith Music file's resource fork.
You can download a copy of ShadowWraith here:
http://mac.the-underdogs.info/index.php?show=game&id=1282
What you'll want to do is open the music file using a resource fork editor, such as Rezilla. You'll know...

I have an assignment that requires me to build a Simple Music Editor. One of the tasks is that when I press a button (music key) the program will display the music note in a Music Staff. The problem I'm having is to create multiple PictureBoxes for every key that I press. I wish that whenever I press a key a new picturebox is created and the note picture is displayed in it. I need some help with the code though... I have a Panel with 6...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
