Hello,
What are the possible ways to make a GUI application start
automatically and run in a usual fashion (i.e. with a capability to
create windows) when mssqlserver starts?

Hi all,
I was wondering how most developers handle the initial startup of their
Windows Forms applications?
When you make an application in Visual Studio, the IDE places Main in the
form that VS makes for you. When I make my applications I sometimes feel
uneasy about leaving the startup logic in the Form - it sort of seems the
wrong place for it. I'm by no means an expert on such things (which is why
I'm writing this post), but it...

I am writing a fairly complex application in c# and Visual Studio .Net 2003.
Right now I am working on a simple console application (to be launched in the
future from a service) that receives messages sent via IP from an external
device. I am also writing a simulator of that external device.
My question: How do I setup the Visual Studio so that when I start debugging
my c# application, both my message sink AND simulator are launched?
I...

In Vs 2005 you have new applicationsEvents.vb I was testing it in a simple
app and found that it was easier to implement unhandled exception management
tah it was in Vs2003 (vb.net) You can, if you want to, prevent your app from
terminating on an unhandled exception, and for me this is important. In an
Ivr app it will let me hang up the phone only on the line that triggered the
unhandled exception, leaving other callers to complete their...

I have a Windows Service I am writing in C# and a set of, let us say
three, other executables written in C# (mostly console applications).
I want that the Windows Service must do so every few seconds:
Check to see if each of the other executables are running or not. If
they are not running, it should load them.
For this purpose, I am planning the following:

Hi, We have a SQL Server Intergration services project but this also has
happened with a reporting services project.
When you are in the immediate window and type ? it will run the
project and in the case of the reporting server project it started to deploy
all the reports to the server. Why does it do that if you type a number
after the question mark like ? 0, ? 1

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
