ODBC-linked table update on table ' table name ' failed.

Hello All:

Have a problem that I have never seen before and have not found anything
on
technet on how to resolve it. I have a SQL Server 2000 server that I
have
created a new database. I then used DTS to import data from a MS Access
97
database. Before making the import, I made changes to the MS Access
database
and changed the autonumbers to integers. I also removed all
relationships.
My front end is still in MS Access 97 and I am linking ODBC tables from
the
SQL Server. Here's the issue, I can not make any changes to any data in
any
table. I get the following message:

ODBC-linked table update on table 'Registry' failed.

According the help for this, the database is in read-only mode. I
checked
the MS Access front end and all my settings on the SQL Server. Nothing
is in
read-only. I did not use the Linked Table Manager to relink the tables,
which can cause issues.

After this message I get the following message:

The text, ntext, and image data types cannot be compared or sorted,
except
when using IS NULL or LIKE operator.

Which is error 306 and has a severity of 16.

On the same SQL Server using Northwind I do not have any issues. Any
ideas
would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
Katuil

Hello Python user, I've read your mail and analysed the problem. The testing i've done was with windows xp pro. First thin i have seen, was that you tried to open an existing registry key with wreg.OpenKey. You must only open only a key with with this command i've you want to read the key, i've you want to write to the key always use wreg.CreateKey.

Dear group, we are dealing with some very specific problems with ODBC, where a connection from SQL-Server to Mysql works with ODBC-driver 3.51.10.00 and does NOT work with ODBC-driver 3.51.11.00. Maybe someone experiences similar problems or even has a solution ? Some feedback (to the group) would be highly appreciated. We use a Microsoft SQL-Server as Headquarter database and some Mysql-machines on Redhat as satellite-databases. We...

Dear Experts, I'm attempting to marry a system to an Oracle 817 datbase. Oracle is my specialty, the back end mainly, so I don't know much about java or javascript. The system uses javascript to make ODBC calls to the db. The particular system I'm working with, will not work with an Oracle stored procedure I'm told. However, it

I am trying to connect to a DB2 v7.2 database from Lotus 123 v9.8 on a Windows XP Pro machine. I have the Software Development Client installed on the XP machine and have run the Client Configuration Assistant and registered the SAMPLE and my TEST databases with the ODBC Administrator as System DSN data sources. Everything seems fine, but when I try to connect to "External Tables" through 123 my DB2 databases are not listed under available...

Hello all, I am executing a stored procedure (on an SQL Server) using ODBC but i can't get the output parameter's value on the client. The stored proc has 3 parameters ,2 of them are input and 1 is output. (for shake of simplicity let's suppose that the proc seems something like -------------------------------------------------------------------- alter storedProcsName @inputParam1 varchar(20), @inputParam2 varchar(20), @outputParam...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
