I changed from Access97 to AccessXP and I have immense performance
problems.
Details:
- Access XP MDB with Jet 4.0 ( no ADP-Project )
- Linked Tables to SQL-Server 2000 over ODBC
I used the SQL Profile to watch the T-SQL-Command which Access ( who
creates the commands?) creates and noticed:

I am trying to create a new query using 3 linked tables. As soon as I
add the third table to the design grid Access crashes.
I have looked in the newsgroup and find that there have been problems
with linked tables and Access 2000 but the threads are dated about 3
years ago.
I am running XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP1 and Access 2002
(10.2627.2625).
I have checked on the Microsoft Upgrade site and although upgrades are
available they...

Hi,
I have an order form which has a field 'ProductID'.
This form has a button on each record to open a new form linked by
ProductID.
This new form is a continuous form and obviously, only displays the
records associated with that ProductID.
Basically this is part of a Product Packing Pick System. From my
products table, each product has a set default amount of items which

I have a rather odd problem that I'm at a loss to explain.
The mdb is in A2K2 format, and has many tables linked to around 3-4
different back end mdbs. It is running on a Win2K3 server (set up as a TS
application server, if that's relevant).
The process that is running is producing a large number of reports,
sometimes to .snp format, sometimes to printer. When trying to access one
particular mdb, it will come up with the error "<mdb...

Trying to figure out the technique which should be used
to add rows to a datagrid. I am thinking that I would
want an "Add" button on the footer, but I am not quite
sure how to do that. Is that the best method? Do you
have a sample of how to do this?

I have a strange situation and I have no idea how to solve this.
Its a Recruitment Search Page,in the Admin Page, for every button click
event the Admin Person has to create a checkbox on the users page. So
whenever the Admin person comes to know about the new category in the market
he will be adding as different Sub-Categories for example ABAP, BDC
etc..etc.. on every click event as Checkboxes. And these
controls(checkboxes) should remain...

Ok, this has totally stumped me. I have an MS Access form that is
linked to a table. No ODBC calls are needed; the tables are stored in
a server that users have full access to. We have a new employee now,
and we have given the employee:
1) the same version of Access Runtime that every other user has
2) SYSTEM.MDW (I know, bad, but it's what we're using....this isn't the
issue), and the employee is added to the workgroup as User and...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
