Access crashes when adding linked tables to query grid

I am trying to create a new query using 3 linked tables. As soon as I
add the third table to the design grid Access crashes.
I have looked in the newsgroup and find that there have been problems
with linked tables and Access 2000 but the threads are dated about 3
years ago.
I am running XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP1 and Access 2002
(10.2627.2625).
I have checked on the Microsoft Upgrade site and although upgrades are
available they all seem to be about security and don't mention linked
table problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

I having a strange and annoying problem where Access crashes when the user copies (to the clipboard) the results of a query. The message is not very helpful. It simply says - "Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienience". The MDB is the front-end portion of an Access application. Most of the tables are linked to the back end. Including the tables used to generate the query in...

I've got to let end users (really just one person) load billing batch files into a third party app table. They need to specify the billing cycle name, the batch name, and the input file name and then I can use these values to execute a SQL Server stored procedure to load them into the batch table from the input file (the stored procedure uses Dynamic SQL to Bulk Insert the file to a temp table then processes it into the final table.) My...

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that. I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

I encountered this problem for the first time today while trying to add some columns to a query from a linked DBASEIII file. The new columns that I added on the design grid do not show up on the data sheet, even though the box is checked. I've already done some trouble shooting, making sure the box is checked, making sure that the columns aren't hidden. Also, I went to the toolbar menu, under tools and then options, and checked the...

Hi All, I started developing in Access, and people took notice and so we're starting to migrate into our corporate's bigger Oracle system. I'll still be using my developed Access front ends, but will be migrating my back ends to Oracle ODBC. 1. Does anyone have recommendations for books or web resources for general rules/guidelines/help on doing this? I haven't found a good

I'm running Access 2003, modifying a query that has over 45 fields. When I right click on the field name in Query Design View, and then click Build, Access crashes before the Build window appears. It doesn't happen every time, and using the Zoom window works fine. It appears that it only happens when I want to modify an existing expression. This continues to happen even after the database is repaired and reopened. Anyone have any...

Hi all, I have a split database. Both the forms, and the tables are stored on a shared network drive (this is Access 2003). The users use the forms, and the tables on the network drive, there are no local copies. When connection to this drive is lost, Access CRASHES. It does it every single time. Does anyone know if there is a way to check if

I have happily been using Access 2003 sp1 with SourceSafe 6.0d (build 31222) for two years. However, application database is being upsized to SQL Server 2005, currently sp2 Developer Edition. I can use Source Safe from the SQL Server database though there were warnings about encoding. However, Access crashes with 'Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to close' if I try to relink my checked out tables to SQL Server...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
