Hi to all,
I've recently installed SQL Server 2000 on Dell Power Edge 1600sc with
dual processor (2.8ghz) and 1 gig of ram, to use a CRM application
(Maximizer Enterprise 8.0)and since we make the install every time a
user is trying to access data it take about 5 to 10 second to see the
requested data. The performance of the SQL server less than the
pervise version of Maximizer.
I've made a typical install of SQL server 2000 and SP3.

Now we want to buy a IBM DB2 license for this
box.

buy a single processor db2 license for this machine
and to configure the db2 software with db2licm just
to use one processor.

Accuired eServer i5 570 - Enterprise Edition; questions..

My company just purchased this unit from a company that went under.
It's brand new in the box and the configuration is posted below. We got
it for very cheap and are wondering if some of you that work with
mashines like this could give me some info on it. We are possibly
interested in implementing...

I am having some problems in the process of moving an Access back-end
to an SQL Server back-end. Everything works but there are severe
problems of response times when the number of users builds up.
At present we are using the Developer version before committing to the
Enterprise version. BOL (quoted below) seems to suggest that, apart
from licensing, they are the same.
Can anyone please confirm that this is so. If not, what is the...

In the processor licensing mode a license is required for each physical
or virtual processor like explained in
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/default.mspx
->But what about dual core processor?
->And what about clustering? (if a user install 2 server in cluster mode)

Dear All,
We have a database which contains many tables which have millions of
records. When We attach the database with MS SQL Server 2005 Standard
Edition Server and run some queries (having joins, filters etc.) then
they take very long time to execute while when We execute same queries
on Enterprise Edition then they run 10 times faster than on standard
edition.
Our database does not use any features which are present in Enterprise

Hi
I need to protect my application in a way. Just a "soft" protection,
not a very strong one.
So, using WMI I get the processor ID and compare it against a key.
Protection works well, until someone (me) decides to clone the system.
After cloning, all cloned systems work with the same key. That is, WMI
returns the same processor id on all workstations.
It seems that Windows "caches" the processor ID in the registry or
somewhere else - I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
