wil s2k developer edition really work on XP Pro box?

Microsoft site says yes

If yes, then if I publish my site on a win2k server, will it still
work?
These questions assume that a yes answer does not involve jumping
through too many hoops or having to spend an entire day or longer
poring through MSDN.

God I sound jaundiced don’t I!

Any help with these questions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Adso

It should work fine; to move the database to the server, you can just backup
the database on your XP box and restore it on the Win2K one. If you will
need to connect to MSSQL on XP, then you should check out this article:

Yes, but you would be violating the license agreement, assuming that the
site is production and not developement.

Is there any reason, other than the distributable Access runtime, to use Office XP developer? I tried installing it on my system, but apparently I need to install/update a bunch of components - "Windows Component Update" or something... not sure I want to do this. What can I do with the Developer edition that I can't do with the Professional edition? I found this on the net, but it sounds like marketing hype:

Hi All, I'm starting some projects now that could really benefit from source code control, but for various reasons, I don't want to have to be working in the Developer Edition of Access to use it. For one thing, I'm often making changes on client machines that don't have the developer edition installed, and for another, I'm interested in starting an open source project which will need to incorporate changes from many Access...

Hi all, I'm interested in getting the Access Developer's edition. Here's my question: where do I go to get it? At Microsoft, there's a Access 2003 Developer's Extensions package, as well as some other packages with mention the .Net framework. ($499 was the price tag on that, which was what I was expecting for the Developer's edition of Access.) Also, I have purchased a copy of Visual C# .Net Standard edition and I hope to

Hi I'm a Java developer moving to windows only applications. Of course the first thing I thought was "well at least, without the VM now I can write desktop applications that run real fast". So I was happily heading to refresh my C++ memory and learn MFC when I ran into this on Wikipedia: ".... applications written in Managed C++ have automatic garbage collection and will run via the .NET virtual machine, just as applications written...

Hi, I have a question about Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition. Usually I use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 to code HTML, ASP and ASP.NET pages. I have created a site in DM. An exact copy of the live website resides on my development machine. My DM site is linked to live site on remote server via FTP. So I check out the files using DM from remote website and then work on the local copy and after I’m doing with the page, I use...

I instal visual studio 2005 without express edition of SQL server. I had instal developer edition before. In the web.config it had this connection string: <add name="LocalSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf" /> Since my SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition instance is named SQL2005 I

When I bought my copy of Visual Studio it came with disks to install the "developer's edition" of MS SQL. However, while installing Visual Studio, the Express version was automatically installed and I have been using the express version with my C# programs. My question is, what, if any, benefit would there be in installing the developer's version instead of continuing to use the express version. Thanks in advance for your responses....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
