This is just wierd... if I go to the MSDN web site and try to view an
article like this...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/cpref/html/frlrfsystemwebhttpbrowsercapabilitiesclasstopic.asp
the Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Archatect 2003 - English setup dialog box
pops up starts the installer process for VS.NET and then asks for the VS.NET
2003 cd because it needs to install something and is looking for the file
VS_SETUP.MSI that...

All,
There is a KB article pertaining to windows installer running every time an
application starts - so I know it's an issue - but the KB article pertains to
MS Office only.
I am seeing the same behavior as the MS Office installer issue in my
installer package. The behavior started happening after I added a custom
installer step (implemented in C#) and the behavior stops if I remove my
custom installer step.

Hi,
I am currently experiencing a wired issue. Every time I start my my dev
server machine to run my ASP.Net app, the IIS server is not functioning - I
get page can not be displayed error and I have to rerun the aspnet_regiis -i
to make it work. I also found that, when this happens, all the .html pages
are served fine, but all the .aspx pages, AND all .asp pages, are not served.
What is going on here?

Whenever i hit F5, my project builds, but then i get an error "The operation
could not be completed"
Then i have to launch task manager, and end the "myproject.vshost.exe"
process manually.
Now, the next time i build it, it will start.
But next time i start debugging, i have to do the same procedure again.
It was working fine earlier, but suddenly this just started happening, and I
don't understand why. It's very annoying to do this...

Hi all,
how do I avoid typing the keyword "$this->" every time I need to
reference a member of a class inside the class?
(coming from a world of cozy auto-complete enabled Java / .Net IDEs I
find it a bit annoying)
TIA,
JS

Hello all,
I have searched far and wide for a solution to my issue. In short, here is the problem:

2. One of the PC's hosts the "master" database, the 2 others are using Replica's of "master" database. At the end of each work day, the...

I have an app that needs to run with elevated privileges on
Windows Vista (Registry operations - don't ask).
I have added a manifest file that looks like this:

<assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"
manifestVersion="1.0">
<assemblyIdentity version="1.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="X86"

In my html, I have an embedded sound wav. I access that sound from my
javascript using Play() and Stop(). However, once stopped, the sound
will aways resume from where it left off, (making Stop behave more
like a Pause). I want it to start from the beginning.
The only way I've been able to start the sound from the beginning
every time, is to use inner.HTML to reload the embedded wav, thereby
reopening the media plugin. There is always a...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
