Tetris

I've been searching google and this group for a while now for a good
tutorial on making a Tetris-style game in Python. I hear Tetris is a
good starting point, and although I am fairly new to programming I
think I would learn best if I had some code to experiment with because
without a tutorial I have no idea where to start. If you know of a
tutorial that is specific to this game please let me know where to find
it.

There's a 600-liners here: http://www.pygame.org/projects/21/133/

Not a tutorial, but maybe just as good?

I just posted online a new tetris clone in javascript. you can play it at http://www.idep-multimedia.com/tetris/tetris.php it s fully and actually playable, and high scores are saved in a hall of fame :). if you try it could you brief me about : -loading time; because sounds are preloaded, and it's a bit long on my computer. I would know if it's specific to my machine.

Hello, I'm gonna write my first 3D multiplayer game using DirectPlay, VC++ ..NET 2002. I've done tutorials supplied along with DXSDK Then I wanted to use the DirectX AppWizard but it produced over 2300 lines of code! It's cool to have prepared automatically all initializations but it's a little too much. That's because I can't find any documentation on details HOW IT WORKS, how I can integrate my own game code with this framework. In...

Hi, I've been messing around with a personal website for a while now, and having totally bust my leg skiing have been google-wacking to work out how to use these funky stylesheet things. After the inevitable frustration to start with, I have something that seems to work ok and I have to say on the whole I like it. I've got a couple of oddities though, which if I can get them fixed would make it all look that little bit less 'hacky'...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
