yeah! the tetris logic is very simple. can be done with few objects

the boring part is the interface. you will have to choose a toolkit
(even for text games!!) and live with its API

counting lines is not a good way to measure a program

I just posted online a new tetris clone in javascript. you can play it at http://www.idep-multimedia.com/tetris/tetris.php it s fully and actually playable, and high scores are saved in a hall of fame :). if you try it could you brief me about : -loading time; because sounds are preloaded, and it's a bit long on my computer. I would know if it's specific to my machine.

I'm learning C sharp and do not like vb much. I'm creatiing a wepage using panel to test myself. I tried to use these code below, which is written in VB, and to transform them to c sharp but I got hard time to understand vb syntax. I don't know if anyone in here can point out which is the equivalent object used in c sharp. Translate these two lines to C sharp: Sub Next_Click(Sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Select Case...

QUESTION: Write a program that opens and read a text file and records how many times each word occurs in the file. Use a binary search tree modified to store both a word and the number of times it occurs. After the program has read the file, it should offer a menu with three choices. the first is to list all the words along with the number of occurences. The second is to let you enter a word, with the program reporting how many times the...

I've been searching google and this group for a while now for a good tutorial on making a Tetris-style game in Python. I hear Tetris is a good starting point, and although I am fairly new to programming I think I would learn best if I had some code to experiment with because without a tutorial I have no idea where to start. If you know of a tutorial that is specific to this game please let me know where to find it.

im creating a code for a printer. the question i am trying to answer is : MyPrinter needs some printing methods. The first, signature: public boolean printOne(String text) {} should take a String as a parameter, and output it on a single line to the terminal window. It should also increment (add 1 to) the total number of copies made, and decrement (subtract 1 from) the number of sheets of paper available. It should return the boolean...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
