I'm trying to get a PHP-based webmail setup going, but I'm running
into a problem with IMAP authentication. Specifically, the PHP IMAP
extension is trying to log in using CRAM-MD5 authentication, which my
IMAP server doesn't support. Is there a way to make PHP IMAP use just
plain login authentication?

Hi,
I was just wondering if there is a way to connect to the secure imap
server (port 993) without having --with-imap-ssl option turned on. I
have --with-imap and --with-openssl and recompiling php is not an option
(I'm not the server owner). Any suggestions/links are appreciated.

Heya,
I'm trying to compile php with imap support on solaris 9, however when i
run ./configure with all the relevant options it doesn't pick up the
extensions and reports "checking for IMAP support... no"
I've followed the instructions on the PHP website to the letter and
don't see how i've gone wrong.
Using php 4.3.4 and imap-2002e.

Is it possible to extract the email-body from a IMAP-mail-file ?
The function 'imap_body()' expects that I'm connected to an IMAP-server, but
I'm not. I just have the file.
So I'm looking for a possiblity to use imap_body and give the name of the
file as a parameter.

I have a computer I've set up as a testing server at home and I'm having a
problem trying to locate the pre-compiled IMAP libraries for PHP on Windows.
According to the book "PHP & MySQL Web Development by Luke Welling and Laura
Thomson", I can get the Windows build of the imap libraries from
http://www.php4win.de. But in going to the website, the title bar says
"php4win suspended" with an empty page.

1. Install a MTA
2. Send and access received mails using PHP
The first part is over...Installed QMail and its working fine.
For the second part ..I m unable to access the imap_* functions
to retreive mails from my mailbox. I read somewhere to recompile
PHP using the --with-imap prefix... The phpmaual says to install
the IMAP package from UW and recompile PHP...

unread messages and displays the sender and subject in a scrollable
window using Tkinter. However, when I try to change the search
parameters on line 55 from 'unread' (UNSEEN) to 'read' (SEEN), the
tkinter window doesn't even pop up anymore.
Any idea how to change the parameters of this program and yet still keep
it functional?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
