Does anyone out there have experience with this or recommended best
practices? We have been looking at either (a) tunnelling everything
over ssh, or (b) just making sure that users have "strong" passwords and requiring "md5" authentication in pg_hba.conf.

Have you considered using VPN routers to punch a hole through your

firewall?

Can you do a a combination of A and B? (Does that make much sense?)

You should also consider blocking all IP addresses other than the client
nodes at the firewall. That won't help much if the client node gets
compromised.

I am not yet on a production server but on my local Apache server. I have defined my personal error file. I have modified the apache configuration httpd.conf to point to this

I have a table with columns (product_id,related_product_id,related_counter) If product A is related to product B then a record should be created, if the record already exists then the related_counter should be incremented. This is very easy to do with MySQL using INSERT... ON DUPLICATE KEY. Standard or not, it is very usefull.

Would like to run the control panel's Internet Date & Time program from VBA - emulating opening it, clicking the Internet Time tab and the Update Now button. I don't really care for the user to see all this. Would just like to sync the system time with the facility built-in to XP and automatically w/o asking the user to go through the steps manually.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether MS has a fix for the Menu Control. If the page is loading while you mouse over a menu control with child menus that pop out, you can generate the following error in IE. Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site... http://www.... Operation aborted

I'd like to programmatically be able to determine if a network interface is currently in "Local Only" or "Local and Internet" access mode. Also I wasn't sure if this is only applicable to Windows Vista? If not possible in C#, maybe netsh can do it?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
