Hello, everyone. I just began school, and they
already assigned us science fair. Since I'm in 8th
grade, I get to do demonstrations for our projects.
I'm probably going to demonstrate Python's networking
capabilities by writing a simple instant messenger
program. I only have a few problems:
1. I know squat about Python network Programming
2. I know nothing about networks

Hi,
It is possible to determine which controls belong with the
current selected columns when a form is in datasheet view?
I already know how to get the .selleft and .selwidth, but, since columns can
be
hidden and rearranged, I don't think I can use these to figure this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I need a code snippet to determine if my computer is connected to a network
or not.
There's probably a System.Net function for it, but I cannot find it.
Thanks,
Steve

Hello,
I would like to develop a new network protocol, where the server and the
clients are Python programs.
I think to be effective, I need to use TCP_NODELAY, and manually
buffered transfers.
I would like to create a general messaging object that has methods like
sendinteger
recvinteger

Hi all,
I had a filesystem crash and when I retrieved the data back
the files had random names without extension. I decided to write a
script to determine the file extension and create a newfile with
extension.

method 1:
# File extension utility.
import os

Hello,
I know about the FileInfo.LastWriteTime() function. However, this is not
always returning the modified date of the executable that I want: when you
copy the executable to another directory the FileInfo.LastWriteTime()
function returns the copy-time.
I can see in my explorer that there is another modified time, the time when
I compiled the executable. My explorer (explorer2, that is, Zabkat's
dual-pane explorer) shows this...

Hi,
how can I enable my standard windows form application to react to a
"trigger" from another application (not necessarily managed code)?
The application has conventional windows form features and is usually used
stand alone.
Additionally it should "listen" to requests from another aplication and
process them.

Can anyone point me to code samples that can get the permission set
for a network drive? I tried the FileInfo and DirectoryInfo classes
but they do not seem to list what I need.

I want to bypass my content page's page_load event when the postback is

Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Handles page.Load
If NOT sender.ThisEventWasFiredFromTheMasterPage then
'process normally

Hi, I am in the process of developing a small application that sits in
the task bar and at a set interval polls an IIS web server for
information. The process involves the client sending anything between 3
and 30 characters of data and the server returning anything up to 50
characters of data.
I need to identify the overhead on the network so I can determine the
network utilisation of the application. The sort of questions I need to
be...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
