i have done download phpmyadmin phpMyAdmin-2.9.2-all-languages-utf-8-only
i have done tar -xvzf phpMyAdmin-2.9.2-all-languages-utf-8-only
How i install it and how can i open it

Untar or unzip the distribution (be sure to unzip the subdirectories):

tar -xzvf phpMyAdmin-2.9.*.*.tar.gz

in your web server's document root.
i am using mandriva 2006 tell me that where s m webserver rrot directory \

Dear motoma

i followed following steps and my php admin is saved in /home/sanjay

cd phpMyAdmin
mkdir config # create directory for saving
chmod o+rw config # give it world writable permissions


cp config.inc.php config/ # copy current configuration for editing
chmod o+w config/config.inc.php # give it world writable permissions


open http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/scripts/setup.php

but its give no object there ?

tellll me that where i am wrong ?

You will need to put it in your webroot.
Usually, it is /var/www/html, but you can often put it in ~/public_html and access it by adding ~username to the end of your url.
Check your webserver configuration to find what the actual location of your webroot.
