I created a report to print labels, and it created a custom page size for
the report.
When I opened the properties of the printer driver I could see it listed -
as Custom.
Then I had to change printer drivers. (Long story, rather OT.)
When I displayed the report, it was formatted for a full page -
not real useful for mailing labels.
The list of available page sizes did not include Custom.

I have a custom page class that adds a menu onto any page that inherits it.
It works fine on a simple page but when I try to implement it on an
exisiting, more complex page I get the error "A control cannot modify its
parents' control collections. " on the following line;
Me.Controls.Add(Header)
In the aspx page I delete all the HTML code and place a panel on the page as
a placeholder. Since it works on a simple page, there's...

Hello -
I am attempting to override the Page control so it outputs a simple
copyright message at the bottom of every page.
The problem I'm running into is that it puts said message below the
</html> tag, which is not compliant.
How do I force this message to appear just above the </body> tag while
keeping everything else the same?

Hi,
This might be a little odd but I need to implement a back/"return to
previous page" function from different pages within my asp.net
application. The page the back button on has a property that stores
an id value that the page i will be returning to will require to
display data. The entire application does not use querystrings, and
I don't want to use session variables to store this value.
The page also has controls that...

Is there a way to arbitrarily persist and restore a page state? For
instance: I'm half way through filling out a page and I come accross a field
that I don't know which value should be placed in it. What I'd like to do is
have a lookup button. In the code for the button click event, I'd like to
persist all the information on the form (say to a database or file), redirect
to another page passing a persistence ticket.
The "called page"...

I've created a custom Page class (which in turn inehrts from Page class).
This class has some generic code which i'd like to include into every page.
At the moment, I keep modifying the pages and changing the Inherits line to
inherit from my page class.
But I'm sure there should be an easier way.
From what i know master pages applies only to the UI, but not the base page
class it self.
How can i achieve my requirement with the least...

Hi,
I'd like to handle all some of my exception by a custom page. I put the
validations in the global.asax to redirect to the custom page, but everytime
an exception is raised, the Server.GetLastError() is == to null in the
page_load of my custom page... Even if I set the exception in the Session,
it's empty when it gets to my custom page. why is this? Is there anyway I
can get the last generated exception from my custom error page?

Hello.
If my users are logged in, and try to access restricted pages I want
to direct them to a custom 403 page. If they are not logged in, I
would like to continue to direct them to the login page as is
currently happening.
Curently, they always direct to the Login page in both cases, which i
think is confusing.

have a 1.1 framework site that is being converted to 2.0.
I have a custom class MyPage that I'm trying to have all of my .Net

My site uses both classic and .Net sessions so I am using the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
