problem in creating testdrive for yiic

134 New Member
hi

i m just trying to learn frameworks and had started with yii.

i had downloaded the files and unzipped into the root directory(htdoc s) of my xampp server.

and as per the documentation i created the testdrive in command line prompt using the following command

yiic webapp ..\testdrive (Windows)

which is given in the readme file.

but i get an eroor message as

'php.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

but i do have all the files perfectly in the specified folders..

and also followed the documentation given under this link and got the error as

'%' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Hey.

Do you have PHP installed on the machine?

To use the "php" command in the CLI, you need to have PHP set up and the path to the executable, "php.exe", added to the PATH variable.

Alternatively, you could just use the full path to the executable instead of "php".

Try this:
  • Download the latest PHP ZIP package.
    (Any of them should do)
  • Unzip the package anywhere.
  • Run your command again, substituting "php" with the full path to the "php.exe" you just unzipped.
See if that does anything.

I am not familiar with Yii myself, so I can't really tell with any certainty, but if the commands you are supposed to use look like:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. cd WebRoot/testdrive
  2. php YiiRoot/framework/yiic.php webapp WebRoot/testdrive
And you have installed PHP into "C:\php\", then you should be able to do:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. cd WebRoot/testdrive
  2. C:\php\php.exe YiiRoot/framework/yiic.php webapp WebRoot/testdrive
But note that I do not actually know how the PHP code that this is supposed to be executing looks like, so I can't predict the outcome of this.

If that doesn't work out, I suggest you try the technical support for that product, or perhaps their support forums. They would be better suited to tell you specifics about their product then we are ;-)

Hi, I have a windows application, wherein the solution consists of 5 projects. When I try to create a setup and deployment project for this solution, I'm somehow unable to add anything in project output group. I tried creating with a setup wizard, but it just doesn't give me an option to add projects, although I was able to add files into the setup. Moreover, creating a normal setup project also did not help. I tried to add a new...

Am having difficulty creating a dynamic <select> element using direct assignment to the element's option array (ie. someElement.option=new Option(someText, someValue);) that will work on Palm devices runing Blazer 3.0 or Web Browser 2.0. The browsers SEEM to be JavaScript1.1+ capable and the script that I have works on every desktop-based browser, but not the PDA ones.... Any advice? Or is this a known deficiency?

I am having a problem saving an image with the same name it originally had. I have two similar versions of my code, one in which I close the FileStream used to open the original image before saving, the other in which I close the FileStream afterwards, although both return the same error. Here are the two versions of the code and the errors they each return (NOTE: I rebooted immediately before running each of these versions so that I knew they...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
