Problem creating web application in Visual Studio .Net

Hi all,

I am having problem creating web application using Visual
Studio .Net. I encountered the following error:

Unable to create Web project 'WebApp1'. Unable to validate
that the file path 'C:\Inetpub\www root\WebApp1' matches
the URL path 'http://localhost/WebApp1'. A connection with
the server could not be established.

Platform: Windows 2000 workstation (SP2)
Visual Studio .Net (Enterprise)
(with FrontPage Server Extension and Internet
Information Services installed).

I suspect that the problem is due to the way Internet
Information Services is configured. But I don't know where
to start.

I would appreciate if someone can give some pointers.

Thanks
Chung Ta

I have found some code that shows how to convert an html form to Word. The message said to simply put the following in the Page_load: Response.ContentType = "application/ms-word" Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "inline; filename=BP_CaseStatus.doc") Now all I should have to do is create the page just like I would if I were going to display it in the browser.

I have an old Visual Studio 2001 VB ASP.Net application; really all I have are the folders and files from the web server. How can I "hook" this back up to Visual Studio 2003 so I can update it? I copied the files and folders to the C:\inetpub\wwwroot directory and created a web application in IIS Manager. Now I can open the default page in IE. But I could not create a project with the same name in VS. I copied the files to the...

I've been creating some toy ASP.NET apps in an effort to understand the technology. I've something odd with regards to project/solution creation. If you create a new asp.net application, it appears that the project files get created in the URL specified Location field on the New Project dialog box. This makes sense to me. What is confusing is that the solution file gets created in a folder with the same name as the location folder (the...

Hi All, I am trying to build the applications in asp.net code. But in error log it is giving "Visual Studio .NET cannot create or open the application. The likeliest problem is that required components are not installed on the local Web server. Run Visual Studio .NET setup and add the Web Development component." But directly i can open and build the application with no effort. Using code it is getting problem. and this is my code.

I am having trouble creating a web site on a server running sharepoint services. I am creating an ASP.Net website using Visual Studio 2005. The server I am trying to create it on is a Windows 2003 server. From what I understand I need to exclude in sharepoint services the folder where the application will be deployed. I have done this in the Define Managed Paths section of the Sharepoint management site, but it has no effect. Even after...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
