Simple PHP Debugging with Firebug

Hello - I posted this in the Firebug Group (http://groups.google.com/
group/firebug), too:

I created a small PHP script that sends all PHP debugging messages to
the Firebug console. So your window is not messed up with debugging
messages and you make full use of Firebug features. You can set mode
to 'html', too, then an absolute positioned box is populated with your
messages.

I think this could be useful for every PHP-developer, who has
installed Firebug.

Any ideas how I can improve the script? Let's start the discussion!

Yep, sorry for the broken link, bill has posted the right one (above).

I use Zend framework, but still not the commercial (?) deep
integration of a debugger in the Zend Engine. I don't use
trigger_error() because ... the function name is longer, and accepts
just one parameter of type string ;) Yes I am one of the lazy
proggers!

Yours,

Andi

Please excuse this very basic question; I'm just starting to learn JavaScript. I have just modified added a toUpperCase statement to change strings to upper case, but it does not run. Can you please tell me what I have done wrong? I have pasted the code in below. Thank you.

I just downloaded firebug and watched a video, how to debug javascript, but it doesn't work for me. If I set a breakpoint, it won't stop there, even if I reload the page.

Hi, First, is this an appropriate NG for talking about debugging JavaScript in Aptana? Assuming it is, I'm trying to get a script to read an external text file and display the text somehow. The script just dies in the file- read operation, with no symptom. I tried unsuccessfully to get the Debugger to run the HTML file.

Hi I've come here after googling for this a day or two and not being able to spot what I'm looking for. I need a JavaScript IDE -- no frills, nothing special -- that offers me the ability to - directly call my functions - step through them

I'm having a problem with the CSS on the website I am developing. A div that works perfectly fine in IE7, FF, and Opera doesn't appear at all in IE6. Now, I realize that I could simply post a link to the site and someone here will likely look at it for about 30 seconds and tell me what's wrong. However, I'd like to be as self-sufficient as I can be so I would _really_ appreciate some guidance on the best way to find this problem for...

Hello, Wondering what everyone's experience with breakpoint debugging is here. I've been using firebug for a few years and, while I'm delighted to have _some_ debugging ability, I've found it to be very fussy, difficult to know when it's going to work or not. I'm curious how others approach debugging, and if anyone here feels they are able to use a breakpoint debugger reliably. thanks,

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
