Hi,
we use htmlMimeMail-2.5.1 (http://www.phpguru.org/mime.mail.html) to send
mails.
If I send an e-mail with the subject
"Das Öl - Öl Öl - Ö Ä Ü ß - test test" I will receive an e-mail with the
subject
"Das Öl - ÖlÖl - ÖÄÜß - test test". Some spaces have been removed.

Hi,
I would like to use a regular expression like "\\w+" to extract the
values "red" "green" and "blue" from the expression "red;green;blue".
That works fine just until a german umlaut like "ü" is in the
expression.
Is there a possibility to make the java.util.regex.Matcher work
properly with german umlauts? I read something about encoding in the
documentation - perhaps I did not try out the right option...

I'm on WinXP, Python 2.3.
I don't have problems with umlauts (ä, ö, ü and their uppercase instances)
in my wxPython-GUIs, when displayed as static texts. But when filling
controls with text containing umlauts, or in the Python console, or when
writing to files umlauts are escaped:
Python 2.3.4 (#53, May 25 2004, 21:17:02) on
win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

Hello!
Given an array of chars such as
char array = "Umlauts öäü"
(that is definitely able to handle those special characters) a
conversion to string returns in getting ripped of the special characters
öäü. Obviously, this is something I don't wanna see happen, but
otherwise, I don't even have a clue on how to avoid it.
Any help urgently required ;-)

I am trying to take in ASCII documents and convert them into ANSI for a
customer in Germany. But every file I process turns umlauts and other
german characters into something other then what it was.
Here is some real simple console code. It seems like umlauts are not in
ASCII, but they are.
StreamWriter swExport = new StreamWriter("C:\\MyDocuments\\In
Progress\\IIR\\OUT.txt",false,System.Text.Encoding.ASCII);
swExport.WriteLine("Ö");

On the page http://wiki.python.org/moin/Python3%2e0Suggestions
I noticed an interesting suggestion:
"These operators ≤ ≥ ≠should be added to the language having the
following meaning:
<= >= !=
this should improve readibility (and make language more accessible to
beginners).

What is the fastest way to search a client-side database?
I have about 60-65 kb of data downloaded to the client which is
present in 3 dynamically created list boxes. The boxes are filled from
3 string arrays, which are just lists of people or companies in
alphabetic order. These names may have accented and umlauted
characters (which are present as the plain ASCII - not as the entity
&# character). The page is UTF-8 encoded.

Hello,
I'm using VS 2005 and I need to send a mail body which contains german
umlauts (ä,ö,ü).
When I receive the mail in Outlook 2003 (english operating system) I always
get a '|' or other similar symbols instead of the expected umlaut.
I'm using Sstem.Net.Mail and I already tried something like this:
string body = "this is some sample äöüÄÖÜß HTML text";

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
