Parser script for a telephone directory?

Hi,
I am trying to find out if there is a pre written script to submit a
query to a telephone directory site (like whitepages.com) and will the
bring back just the results and strip away all the adds/images.

Thank You

I doubt it. Such a service would be in no doubt contrary to the
website's Terms of Service.

You could avoid breaking many sites' TOS _and_ remain free of all/most of
the distracting/annoying bits, by using custom stylesheets. IIRC Toby
Inkster wrote an item about it on his blog once.
(ironically his blog is one of the sites I view unstyled, I am not too
keen on the slanted font. Luckily it degrades well, contrary to many sites
(try google for one)

Hello, I am trying to pinpoint an apparent bug in HTML::Parser. The encoding of the text seems to change incorrectly if the locale isn't set properly. However Parser.pm in the directory (/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/HTML/) doesn't seem to contain the "real" parsing statements.

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have a client side form validation script which works perfectly in IE but clicking "Submit" in Mozilla does nothing - the form won't submit. Is there something I can use that will work for both browsers, or is there something wrong with my code? I seem to think that the problem lies with the "onclick" area of the form. This is my code, such as it is... <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

I'm trying to figure out why this script will work in IE 6 but not Firefox, and so I need someone here with a far better grasp on javascript to explain this. Basically, I have a page with several thumbnails. Above these thumbnails I placed a large picture with text next to it to describe what the picture is about. So, when you click a thumb, the large pic AND text change dynamically to reflect the thumbnail -- see...

Hallöchen! I have a module parser.py in the same directory as the main module. In the main module, I import "parser". On Linux, this works as expected, however on Windows, it imports the stdlib parser module. sys.path points to the directory of my parser.py in both cases. What went wrong here? Tschö, Torsten.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
