Hi folks,
Yesterday I have upgraded my linux box with a pair of Xeon 1G CPU and
reinstalled everything (it was a sinle Xeon 700). The default RH9
installation comes with MySQL 3.23.54. After the reinstallation I
found the machine was not as responsive as before. (It's not very
slow, but some lagging is noticed)
I was running Mysql-max 4.0.11 and the performance was ok, except the

I am building a web ap and have a webform1 an agreement.cs and a files.cs going to an access database
I am not having problems reading or writing to the database but I have hit a snag on how to keep my
variables from falling out of scope to write back to the webform.

Hi,
I'm trying to do something very simple...or at least it should be. I
have created a host page (gen.aspx) and a very simple user control
(us.ascx). The corresponding code-behind files are gen.aspx.vb and
uc.ascx.vb. With simple html or self contained vb in the user control,
everything is fine and dandy. So the next stage is to pass back a
simple variable from the user control to the host page. I used VS.NEt
to create the files.

I've created a custom session handler that saves session data to a
MySQL database. If the database server is down, I'd like to fallback to
PHP's default session handler (files) until the server comes back up.
After calling session_set_save_handler(), is there a way to tell PHP to
ignore this setting and revert to temp files for session storage? If I

I've got an application that I can copy some text out of the
RichTextBox control. I would like to keep the formatting so I'm able
to copy it to the Clipboard with RTF formatting. I have no trouble
pasting the formatted text into wordpad (which supports RTF formatting)
but it won't paste into notepad (no RTF support). I know that if I

How can I implement a rising/falling trend arrow based on a number
that may rise or fall. For example, if the number (variable) is 100
and changes to 101, the "arrow" changes to "up", if the number goes
