Have many of you upgraded to VS 2003?
We have been using Visual Studio 2002, and are somewhat satisfied, except
for the following areas:
Speed - VS2002 apps are dead dog slow to start up, and slow the first time a
form loads. Has this been addressed? We have been all through the "fixes"
that supposedly speed up things in 2002, but they do not work, and are
hoping 2003 is better.

I am interested in converting a Access 97 application to VB.Net (well okay
rewriting). This would be a VB.Net client with a SQL Server backend, as
opposed to my other alternative which would be rewriting this as an Access
XP application with a SQL Server backend.

Hi, I have db2 workgroup 7.2 and am planning to upgrade to 8.1
workgroup server edition. Could someone please tell me if the order in
which I do this as listed below is correct?
ON THE SERVER
---------------
1. stop all db2 services
2. install db2 8.1 (I guess this should automatically upgrade the
earlier version?)
3. install the latest fixpak for 8.1

Apologies if this is a duplicate posting
We are using A97 and it does what we want it to.
Is there any compelling reason to upgrade to the latest version?
If we do, it would probably also involve upgrading all of
MSOffice at the same time, i.e. Word + Excel + Powerpoint
Any advice would be appreciated.

SInce about 1996, I have been happily using MS Access for Windows 95,
but would now like to upgrade to a recent version. If I get a Windows
XP version, will I be able to import all my Access 95 files without
problems?
Alternatively, should I continue applying the "if it ain't broke,
don't fix it" approach, and keep on using Access for Win 95?

What would be a better procedure to upgrade clients?
1. Upgrade clients to 8.1.7.
2. Uninstall 8.16 and install 8.1.7 client
Anybody have any problems with clients the upgrade on WIN platform?
If I apply the 8.1.7.4 patch to the server do I need to apply it to the clients?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
