DB2 V8 Client / DB2 for z/OS Upgrade Path

We have a question about the 'correct' procedure for upgrading our DB2
Run-time clients to V8. These client machines are currently running V7
FP13 and are used to connect to a mainframe DB2 database on z/OS.
Based on the DB2 LUW documentation, we upgraded our DB2 Connect Gateway
machines to V8 first before anything else. We are now in the process
of upgrading DB2 for z/OS to Version 8, and have, in fact, upgraded it
to Version 8 - Compatability Mode. Our basic question now is - should
we upgrade the Run-time clients to V8 before we switch over to New
Function mode on DB2 for z/OS V8 or vice-versa?

Our web application currently uses MSXML 4.0 to perform XSL translation of our XML document into HTML which is then delivered to the client's browser. By specifying the XSL file used for translation in the XML file, we can simply send the XML document to the client's browser and have the browser perform the translation for us. This reduces the amount of processing that must be performed on the server. I know certain browser versions...

I recently upgraded my server to Windows 2003. The first thing I noticed is that my sample WebService pages no longer worked. The Invoke test button is missing. This is addresed by the following KB article: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 819267 INFO: HTTP GET and HTTP POST Are Disabled by Default http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;819267 The article advises that a new block be inserted into Web.config (or into

We have several machines currently running the DB2 V7 Run-time Client that we would like to actually be running the App Dev Client. To 'upgrade' (within the same version) this client software can we simply install the App Dev Client on 'top of' the Run-time Client? Will the install routine uninstall the Run-time Client under the covers during the install of the App Dev Client? Also, is this type of 'upgrade' possible/supported during a...

We've fooled around with Access a bit, but only using the single-user store-bought version. It seems to be a good database - versatile and infinitely programmable - and can apparently be used as a front end to SQL server if we ever needed to go that route. But - is there a client/server version of Access ? Looking on the CDW site there is a bewildering variety of packages and licences and such, but we can't figure out just which do...

Hi, We have a major ASP app that we are in the process of upgrading to ASP.NET 1.1 and probably on to ASP.NET 2.0 in the middle of next year. (We will also be upgrading to SQL2K5 at the same time). The current architecture is heavily based on the client side, both for validation and data access. The asp page is returned and then data is modified or selected using XMLHTTP objects embedded on the page, which post or get to a data...

I have been using a prepackaged WAMP (Windows Apache MySQL PHP) installation and along the way (over several years) have modified this and that, added vhosts, modified php.ini the way I want, set up a live php manual (docref_root), moved DLLs, and a thousand other things. Problem is, I have not had to modify anything in a *long* time. Everything works wonderfully as is, I just want to try out some newer features (5.0.4). Quite...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
