Hi, I'm a bit confused ... when would I rather write an database
application using MS Access and Visual Basic and when (and why) would I
rather write it using Visual Studio .Net?
Is it as easy in Visual Studio to create reports and labels as it's in
Access?`
The advantage of VS.net is that not every user needs Access, right? And
that would eliminate the Access version problem as well I guess.

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with an ms-access ADP Project under Access XP and an
SQL Server 2000.
On my computer the program is running without any problems.
Then I create a copy of the Access file and I make a backup of my
database.
I reinstall the backup on another (identical) sql server.
When I trie to run the program, I usually get a page allocation fault.

When I use localhost as Webserver I can access everything.
But running another Webserver on a seperate Computer in the network - I can
open or create projects.
As I understand the Standard-Access on NTFS handles the access. But why can
I create a new project on that other computer webserver (alsways UNC-error).
How can I prepare the Websever to allow VStudion.NET to crate on projects?

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is
upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server
at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has
licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that.
I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if
Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

The Joy of Interoperability
Sometimes a revolution in programming forces you to abandon all that's
come before. To take an extreme example, suppose you have been writing
Visual Basic applications for years now. If you're like many
developers, you will have built up a substantial inventory of code in
that time. And if you've been following...

Is there a way to find out where an application was created from?
i.e. - work or home
i.e. - if application sits on a (work) server/network, the IT people know the
application is sitting there, but is there a way they can find out if that
application was put there from a CD or email or created at work?
Hint: It's not on a client/server database, just native jet database mdb
created on Access 2003 (default 2000)...

Hi there,
I have a database in Access that I need on the web. The web page
should connect to the database and write records for certain tables
and view records for others. I want to know a reliable way of
connecting Access to a server. I am willing to switch to any version
of Access which might solve the problem. Which server would you
recommend and what are the advanatages and disadvantatges of the
server you propose? Please also inlcude...

I hate to cross post, but I've gotten no answer yet on a problem I'm having
with visual studio 2008.
I've created a series of forms with controls to access a Access database
tables. The connection string works fine and the tables are added to the
project without a problem.
When I create the tables they appear to bind and I am able to preview the
data in the database in design mode; however, at runtime no data is
displayed and the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
